Product Range Optimisation

What is it?

A service for amateur and professional teams and athletes from any sport where aerodynamics play a role.

It's putting a number on the performance of all the equipment (including clothing) available to you.

It's helping you understand what to use and exactly when to use it to your maximum advantage.

Why should you do it?

A seam in the wrong place can increase your aerodynamic drag by 4%!

You don't know how something performs until you test it. At WINSPEED we understand how to test equipment so real-world performance can be quantified. Should you leave your leg warmers on or take them off at the end of a bike race in 10C?

This is a fully independent service that you can trust the results of. Information learned can provide valuable insight for you and your sponsors to develop further.

What's Involved?

We start with a consultation of events you're looking to perform in.

Then we examine all the equipment you have available and decide what to test and how to test it.

It's then time to jump in the wind tunnel. Advanced testing methodology and modelling allows us to more closely replicate real-world conditions than anyone else in a time and cost-efficient manner.

The results of testing are then fed into a range of models to determine what equipment should be used when.

What you get:

A report and debrief of the testing conducted.

Documents that detail what equipment should be used in each of the scenarios described in the initial consultation. These can be used by athletes and team staff alike.

Optional Extras:

Extra consultation or on-the-ground support for key events can be arranged.

Using the results from this testing combined with world-leading knowledge and experience we can help you and your sponsors develop products that will be the class of the field.

What does it cost?

This varies between different sports and the range of events the equipment is being tested for.

For example, a skier targeting only the Downhill and Super-G events will have a smaller range of tests than a professional cycling team wanting to test for spring classics, Grand Tour mountaintop finishes and sprint stages with different riders.

The first example could cost as little as little as £2,000 ex. VAT for consultation, testing and analysis.

The second exaple could stretch up to £20,000 for a comprehensive and in-depth examination of all team equipment so not a single Watt of effort is wasted across any day of racing in the year.

Knowledge is power and you could learn the information you need to take the next step forwards or maintain your advantage on the competition.
